Losing a loved one is an incredibly difficult time and we want to take the stress out of arranging the food for your wake.
Our catering service is flexible and sensitive, we understand that you may need us at short notice and we are fully equipped to support this and can help you find a menu that works for your family’s needs.
Our funeral catering can cater for vegetarian/vegan/gluten free/dairy free diets – please just let us know your requirements.
We also offer a tea and coffee service for your guests
We cover the whole of Essex and parts of Kent

Prices start from £9.95 per person
We offer a delivery service to make things as simple as possible
We also offer a hire service including, tables, chairs, glasses, cutlery, urns just to name a few

I cannot recommend Katie and Tony & Team at The Laughing Pear Cafe (Rayleigh) enough for the brilliant job they did of catering for my sister’s funeral – and at such short notice too! The food was excellent – my opinion and that of all my guests (including one who also does catering!) and the vegan and gluten-free platter I requested was awesome too!
They were friendly & professional throughout and delivered on time – to the Colchester venue. It took a HUGE stress off my shoulders when at the last minute I realised I wasn’t up to the big task of organising the food – they were my saviours! AND I took the huge gamble of plucking them off a list from Google, never having seen or heard of them before or having them recommended by anyone. Yet it paid off immensely and I cannot thank you enough for doing such an amazing job!

Katie and The Laughing Pear team did the catering for a post funeral gathering at my house.
At a difficult time for the family they took care of everything. Katie helped with menu choice, brought and presented the food at the agreed time. Serving plates and disposal cutlery were also provided.
The food was fantastic as you can see in the pictures so I would certainly recommend them and use them for parties etc
